OVERVIEW:
I loved working at Casa Chirilagua. Personally, the work was a fusion of my strengths in design, photography, writing, creative storytelling and strategizing. This project encompasses many of these.
Every photo here I captured during key events throughout the year. The template I designed utilized a grid layout to easily be re-used annually. I ghost-wrote and edited large pieces of content. Together with the Executive Director we strategized an ideal mix of facts with stories.
An example of my writing is in the opening letter of the 2018 report below. To assist our Executive Director I wrote a draft and presented it to her. After review she added the middle paragraphs about the funding and we kept the rest of my copy.
2017 Annual Report
PERSONAL HIGHLIGHT
I supervised a summer creative intern from the Chirilagua community who was gifted with a creative eye. This young man was a local college student with creative ambitions. I trained him on how to use Adobe Illustrator – which is no small feat – and oversaw his creation of the illustrations in 2017's annual report on page 4 seen below.
